MB passes rally ordinances [... and Lid Law]

All 15 of Myrtle Beach's proposed bike rally options have become law, though with some modifications.
At this morning's city council workshop, rally proponents raised objections to some details and some entire proposals, like the one that requires riders to wear helmets and protective eyewear within city limits.

MYRTLE BEACH — Furious and frustrated after the weekend shooting death of a 20-year-old Coastal Carolina University student, Myrtle Beach City Council members said Tuesday that they do not want motorcycle rallies in the city any more.
A group of local ministers and a bike-rally event promoter spoke to the council at a morning workshop Tuesday and implored the city to help them "do something" about the behavior they witnessed during the past weekend.

I know this column is called "Favorite Rides Through The Northern Sierra Nevada" but man cannot live on bread alone
nor can I do all my riding in the same mountain range. Sometimes, I just gotta hit the road for an extended ride and get
out of Dodge so to speak. Besides, I had to see how my new Buell Ulysses would do on a longer trip, two up and in a

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Hells Angels veteran Sonny Barger, the man who oversaw the motorcycle gang's violent crackdown on fans at the Rolling Stones' disastrous Altamont concert in 1969, is suing HBO over a drama project he claims he helped develop.
In a suit filed last week, Barger contends HBO and the producers of the motorcycle-themed drama pilot "1%" cut him out of the project and violated many of his publicity rights when he demanded changes to protect his own brand.
